Dragon Figures
Size: 1.5-3.5 inches
Isn't it weird when bootlegs are better than some of the official stuff? These figures have a very cheap feel to them, and they stink of cheap plastic, but they look really nice! That's probably the best Bewilderbeast figure ever - sorry Spin Master, but your Bewilderbeasts were just ugly - and Hookfang and Belch & Barf are looking nice too. Light Fury is just a repainted Toothless, though. Can't win 'em all I guess!

Light Fury Mini Figure
Size: 0.5 inches
I can always do with more Light Furies! This little bootie is ripped off of one of the Toothless mystery minis. She's still well-made though, and not just a white Toothless. She's got her correct tail fins, and she's lacking the spikes and frills that Toothless normally has. Not bad for a bootleg!

PVC Figures
Size: 5 inches
These have appeared on eBay in official-looking boxes, but I'm pretty sure they're bootlegs. They don't have any copyright information on them, and they appear to be ripped off the popcorn buckets/drink holder models. They are nice and chunky though, and pretty cute. Toothless has yellow eyes, which is odd for merchandise after the first movie, and Light Fury's face is quite flat.

Funko Pop! Hookfang Keyring
Size: 3 inches
My favourite cutie Hookfang!
This keyring was super cheap and from a Chinese seller (ripped off the Funko Pop art), so I wasn't expecting much. Imagine my surprise when this keyring arrived in its huge and double-sided glory! Yep, this is an amazingly high quality item, considering its price and origins. It's actually better than some official merchandise! I actually love this to pieces, it's become one of my favourite Hookfang items. I'm so pleased I bought it, worth it for sure!

LEGO Figures
Size: 3.8 inches
I love these SO much, you have no idea. The paint jobs aren't bad, Stormfly is even kind of metallic. For some reason, Toothless has some racing paint, and Stormfly even has some nice details on her scales. They're much bigger than I expected as well; much larger than a real LEGO mini figure. The wings, heads, and tails are also really nicely sculpted. But my favourite thing of all, is that they gave Stormfly arms. Surely it'd have been less effort to just not give her arms at all, but they went the extra mile and gave us our first ever quadrupedal Nadder.

Large Rubber Figures
Size: 5 inches
I love these big chonkers. Toothless looks great with his mega glow, and even though Light Fury is just a white Toothless, I like the pink on her wings and her cute little tongue. She has glitter down her spine and in her eyes too! These are the kind of bootlegs I love!

Racing Toothless Figure
Size: 4.5 inches
I don't want too many crazy Mexican bootlegs, but this guy was too cute to pass up. His sitting pose is so cute, and his wings and tail are actually really nicely shaped! He's unusually small for these kinds of bootlegs, and of course lights up like a Christmas tree having a seizure. He's also got random racing stripes, but only on his wings. And, uh, a skull tattoo on his chest. I hope he doesn't regret that later on!

Toothless Action Figure
Size: 4 inches
This guy is a bootleg all the way from Mexico! He's not actually bad looking, and could pass for a low-quality official item. I'm actually pretty happy to welcome him to the hoard, considering I usually hate bootlegs and only bought him for the novelty! Also, he's amazing. He had this weird white plug-lookin' thing and I thought it was just typical trashy bootleg quality, but it makes him light up like crazy, with three different flash settings!

"Toy Factory" Toothless
Size: 11 inches
A very soft and well-made bootie, but definitely a bootie. He has a Toy Factory hang tag, but a Snap Creative tush tag, which are two totally independent companies. He's also a very common bootleg, though his quality is very high! Not bad for a cheap item, if official plush are outside your budget.

Clip Plush

These guys are... ok. For bootlegs. They are very soft, and quite cute, but not all that great quality. As you can see, Toothless looks pretty good - except for the yellow eyes. But that's something a lot of early merchandise has, so I'll let it slide. But Light Fury is literally just a white Toothless, with no effort made to differentiate her whatsoever (it's hard to tell, but she even has the teeth). It's a shame, because these could be quite nice. So if you see these on eBay, and trust me they're everywhere, maybe only get Toothless.

"Racing" Light Fury and... Hiccup Figures
Size: 2-3 inches
Get your mind out of the gutter; that's meant to be a peg to slot him onto the dragons! ... Even though Light Fury doesn't have a slot for him to fit... This kind of hilarious duo is exactly why I love ridiculous booties. Spin Master would never make something this hilarious and horrifying.
The Light Fury is really well modelled and pretty, at least!

Sitting Up Toothless & Light Fury Figures
Size: 5 inches
This big ugly pair is another winner from Mexico. Light Fury kinda makes it work though, I think it's because her tongue is a lot smaller. I find it weird that they didn't change a single thing from their Toothless model, except her mouth?
I absolutely love their bootlegs, they have everything I want: Generally on-model, unique poses, terrible paint jobs, and horrifying faces. They also tend to be pretty big which is cool, and I do appreciate that they generally get all the details correct. One day I'd love to have a shelf just of unusual Mexican booties!

Flat Light Fury Figure
Size: 3 inches
There's few things I love more in this world than derpy bootlegs, but one of those things is specifically Light Fury derpy bootlegs. Seeing my beautiful dragon queen represented like... this... is just fantastic. She's just a white, flat, roadkill Toothless. I love her so much.

Rubber Charms
Size: 1-2 inches
Croc charm imitations. Very nice ones though! And since there's no official alternative, I will gladly accept these into the collection! The Vikings' eyes are super freaky though. But cutie Hookfang makes up for it!! That, and ginger!Astrid is the most amazing, awful mistake ever.

Mini Dragons
Size: 2.5 inches
These booties are based off the mini dragons, and man, are they classic bootlegs. Mostly on model, then ruined by atrocious paint. Stormfly looks the most accurate, and is generally unoffensive. Toothless looks decent from a distance, until you see him close up and see his terrible paint and giant thumb print in his chest. And then there's Hookfang, the demon dragon. He's got horrible bright red paint, weird white horns, and the most demonic eyes I've ever seen on a toy. Of course, he's the best.

Light Fury Rubber Keyring
Size: 3 inches (Light Fury)
I've seen these around, and kinda wanted them, mainly because I love Light Fury. And very luckily, a friend got this one for me! She's pretty chubby and cute, but it's odd that they put effort into making her face different to Toothless, but then went ahead and gave her his tail, complete with red fin! I also love the writing on the strap that makes absolutely zero sense. She's a perfect bootleg and I'm pleased to have her!! Maybe one day I'll get the Toothless to go with her.

Mexican Toothless Plush
Size: 7 inches
This is my loooooong boy. He looks like a crocodile and I love him. I love it when bootlegs are actually unique in their own right, and not ripped off of something official. Also, all my official plush are display only, unless I have doubles, which means if I want to cuddle my dragons, I can only cuddle my unofficial ones! So babies like this are perfect for that! He's so soft and squishy, he's my best bootleg to cuddle by far!

Viking Figures
Size: 5 inches
Oh my God I couldn't resist these. Each one is like a catastrophic masterpiece. They're all blond(e), except for Stoick, for one. Astrid has got the dead-eye stare of a fish. They are probably dripping with lead. Stoick has a head that is a different colour to his arms. The horns on Gobber's helmet. Amazing.
But hey, a Stoick figure. And Ruffnut too!

Toothless Plush
Size: 10-13 inches
Somehow I've ended up with two similar, but not identical, bootlegs. The one with the tag I bought by accident, and the other one... I have no idea where he came from. I just unpacked him after my move and can't remember anything except vaguely that he came free with something else. They're ok, kinda ugly, and the most common style of bootleg.

Factory Reject Night Fury Plush
Size: 7 inches
I bought this to compare the quality of fake items to real ones. There are loads of these on eBay, so watch out! They're okay for quality, but their mouths look even more ridiculous than the real Spin Master one, and their material is cheaper and not as soft. Also they don't really stand up right and kinda lean forwards. All in all, they're no good substitute for an official one!
