Original Comic Book Page - Lee Townsend
Size: 16.5 inches

Manufacturer: Lee Townsend
I'm absolutely gobsmacked that I own a second piece of original art!! Lee Townsend, a comic book artist, did a couple of guest pages for HTTYD. I think he just did the inking, not the drawing themselves, but still! It's incredible!! This is the original lineart that would've been scanned and coloured digitally. He auctioned off a couple of pages, but this one was the best because it contained all the main characters and dragons! It's a page from the "Dangers of the Deep" comic, volume 2. And it is just magnificent!! There are simply no words for how grateful I am for this beautiful piece, and how much I love it. The artist was even kind enough to offer personalisations with his sales, so I got him to dedicate it to me (blurred out of course)! I say this a lot, but this is honestly one of my most prized collectibles!

RoB Original Character Model Art

Manufacturer: Dan Kubat
These are original drawings from a storyboarder on the show! They model different characters in different positions, for practice and reference. A few also help to lay out scenes. I had to scoop up a few of these, of my favourite characters! Each one is signed by the artist.

RoB Original Production Art

Dan Kubat is an illustrator who did some storyboards for some RoB episodes. This here is an original drawing (not a copy) signed by him! It is for The Heather Report episodes. Drawings like these would be used to model the characters for the show. A very nice collectible to own, and I feel very lucky!! I love the expression on both Astrid and Stormfly!

RoB Original Production Scenes
Size: 11 inches
Distribution: N/A - Unique
Manufacturer: Dan Kubat via WildBrain (2010)
Like the one above, these are original drawings and not copies. And signed to boot! How nice! They are similar to storyboards, where the art depicts a specific scene from the series. These are both from How to Pick Your Dragon, which is my third favourite episode from the entire TV series (behind Defiant One and Dragon Flower). I always love Stoick getting extra special attention. The first page has Stoick when he's riding around on Toothless with Hiccup, and the second one is when he has Thornado. Very cool having some original art of a non-main dragon!

Original Coloured Comic Book Page
Size: 16.5 inches
Distribution: N/A - Unique
Manufacturer: Lee Townsend
Honestly, what a stroke of luck that one of the guys who worked on the RoB comics now comes to most London Comic-Cons. It means I can pick up lots of cool stuff from him! This time he was selling comic book pages that he had inked (like the one above), and this one was coloured too! I believe they are inked and then scanned, to be coloured digitally, and Mr. Townsend had a print of this page before the lettering was added, probably printed to test the colours, as the actual pages for the comic book are MUCH smaller. It's the exact same size as the actual original inked page above. He also signed it again! It's really cool to own another piece of comic art, and it's so vibrant and beautiful!!

RoB Signed Storyboards
Size: 11 inches
Distribution: Employees only
Manufacturer: Dan Kubat
Scene Numbers: 13 and 28
More production work! It's always been a dream to own a storyboard. Sadly these aren't true originals, but they are copies of the storyboards that would be given to animators to create the scenes from, so they are still official. A similar thing in anime is "settei" sheets. An artist would make a character reference sheet, and then have it copied so every animator works from the same model sheet to keep the characters looking consistent. They are copies of an original piece of art, but still very official. These two scenes are from Heather Report Part 1, from the scenes where Hiccup and Astrid are racing, and when Hiccup meets Heather. They are also signed by the artist who drew them originally!

Original Hookfang Drawing - Lee Townsend
Size: 11.8 inches
Distribution: N/A - Unique
Artist: Lee Townsend
Every year I go to Comic-Con, and every year I vow to get at least one HTTYD item. This usually means a custom drawing from the artist's alley. In 2017, Lee Townsend was there! He may not be an artist for DreamWorks, but he did work on the comic book line for Riders of Berk and Defenders of Berk. In fact, that comic page inking further up is from him! Anyway, he was at Comic-Con and was taking pencil sketch commissions, so of course I asked him to draw my favouritest dragon ever, Hookfang!
